The Free Online 2D Truck Simulator

CombiSim is a simple 2D top view web application for laptop or PC that simulates the movement of articulated vehicles. The aim is to visualize the movements as precise as possible. CombiSim supports many vehicle types already, and the available list will grow over time:

The screen is your area available to move around, there is no scrolling. The vehicle will not stop on the edges of the screen, so if you 'lost' it you will have to reload. Driving forward is easy most of the times, but the real challenge is of course to reverse properly.

Try to park the vehicle in the parking zone. If you park in the correct direction over this spot the spot lights up in green. Hint: press S when the parking zone lights up green to have your attempt registered.

For each attempt the amount of time that was needed gets recorded, and a popup chart shows where your attempt is compared to other attempts for the same vehicle and scenario. Your score will be visible as the green marker at the bottom of the chart.

Make sure you capture your score with a screenshot to share on your social media, especially the more complex models. Some models even I have not been able to complete myself!

Per vehicle type there are a few background scenario's developed. Each background scene is designed to challenge you to park without hitting the other objects.

Controlling CombiSim is very easy. Only the arrow keys are required to manouver a vehicle. A few more keys help to quickly reset speed and/or direction or change the background. The help menu is always available when you are logged in.

Although the movement behaviour of the vehicles is meticuously developed, I decided not to implement collision detection (yet). It means that you can run over all artifacts that you see on the screen. But why would you? In most cases it does not help you to get a better score after all. And if you are annoyed by the background after all, just press E and it's gone. It is only there to provide you with some additional challenges. When I have the time and/or resources I may still consider to add collision detection.

Also, CombiSim has this unique top view that allows you to see all wheels at all times. It is designed to help you better understand the dynamics of articulated vehicles.

Frankly that is all there is to say about what CombiSim does. Did I already mention that you can sign up and use CombiSim for free? Please check the colofon for some more (technical) background information if you are interested.

And if you feel like it, you can a leave some feedback. The more feedback I get, the more I know what area to improve. Feedback works only once per session. So, if you are redirected to the front page, it means you already submitted your feedback during your current session.

CombiSim is a one-man development effort, and has taken way more time than I anticipated when I started. If you liked fiddling around with CombiSim for some time, please consider to support me. Once is totally fine of course, but you'll be a total hero if you do this every now and then. CombiSim has a support page where you can express your gratitude. It will help me do further developments for CombiSim!

Last but not least, for businesses it is possible to request a partner account at no cost that allows you to create CombiSim accounts to share with your own clients. When a used logs in with this account, your company details will be visible in the header. Check our partners page for more information.
